Chicago Midway Airport (MDW)

Welcome to Midway International Airport (MDW)! MDW is located in Chicago, Illinois and is Chicago’s original airport. It is dominated by Southwest Airlines and is the carrier's largest focus city. Midway is the second-largest passenger airport in the Chicago metropolitan area and hosts over 17 million passengers. The airport also ranked highest in customer satisfaction amongst its similar sized competitors in J.D. Power and Associates' 2008 study. 

Passenger Services

Midway has one main terminal and three concourses, A, B, and C, that are connected by the Midway Boulevard. Midway Boulevard is full of restaurants and shops for your pleasure. Midway Airport offers standard amenities including ATMs, airport information, and currency exchange.

Midway supports Chicago's Airport Public Art Program which is dedicated to enhancing the air travel experience by providing exhibits and events to passengers. The program includes permanent installations as well as rotating exhibitions and community art. 


Passengers can get to downtown Chicago by car on the Stevenson Expressway or by rail on the Chicago Transit Authority’s Orange Line. Taxis, shuttles, and rental cars are also available to passengers.
